St Cayetano's Revel

Date and Time:
Saturday, September 26, 2009 - 19:00 to 23:00

In 1480, in Vincenza, a babe was born (many in fact, but we are only concerned with one). His name was Gaetano dei Conti di Tiene: this child grew to a man (which happens a lot with young boys), and this man became a Saint (which doesn't happen to many), a patron saint to . . . Gamblers.

St Cayetano would love to save us from the Sin of gambling, but you can't be saved from a sin if you never start.

Come join us at St Cayetano's Revel, where the vices of Avarice, Envy, Pride and Gluttony will be on display. Sloth will be left in the carpark, Wrath will be exiled out the back, and we'd prefer you kept Lust to the privacy of your own home . . . minor indulgencies will be accepted.

Play games of chance and trickery, sing and dance, eat and drink . . . but leave the children at home.

  • Cost: $14 for members, $16 for non-members
  • Older children (12+) may attend at adult prices at their parents'
    discretion.
  • Bring your gameboards, your dice and other Implements of Immorality.
  • We will provide gambling pieces, a number of games and a simple, hearty tavern supper.
  • The site is discreetly damp, so feel free to bring a bottle or two but please take away your empties.
  • There is a caretaker on site so please take care, and keep the noise level to a minimum in the carpark as you leave.

Bookings: contact Anna de Witte (Angela Wells). email: angwells@gmail.com

Bookings close one week before the event: Friday the 18th of September 2009.

Bookings tentative - nay! a mere rumour in fact - until payment recieved.(Preferred form: direct deposit into Ildhafn's bank account; cheques and cash will also be accepted, but remember this is a gambling event, so remember to ask for a reciept).

Seneschal's Addendum:
This is an adults-and-grown-up-children-only event. That doesn't mean we
don't like children, or don't think they're valuable members of the group
(any more than holding a tourney means we despise the arts and sciences!).
In fact, I'd love to see an event aimed specifically at the Barony's
children . . . anyone want to run it?
